MCBAIN – Missaukee County Board of Commissioners, at its meeting last week, approved the proposed lease agreement with Huntington Bank for prosecuting attorney office space.
Administrator Liz Vogel presented a request for an extension on the property lease with Huntington National Bank for the office space. Discussions with Huntington Bank regarding the lease have been ongoing. The final proposal is a two-year lease ending February 2024, with rent in the first month at $1,549.85 per month plus utilities at $288.71 per month.
Clerk/Register Jessica Nielsen presented a professional services agreement from Atwell LLC in the amount of $35,720. The total grant amount awarded is $41,281, and the proposed contract includes an estimated 38 corners to be surveyed in 2022. The board waived the competitive bidding process due to the specialized nature of the work, and approved the proposed contract as presented.
The board passed motions to approve the purchase of a vehicle for the sheriff department to be used by the TNT detective and also to approve the wage step request for the new Sheriff Deputy hire as requested.
The board discussed the request from the Conservation District to place a mileage renewal proposal on the August 2022 ballot. There were no motions made to place a proposal on the August 2022 ballot, but rather a consensus by the board to wait until 2024 to put a proposal on the ballot in August 2024.
The board approved the Building Secretary position going from part-time to full-time at 40 hours per week as requested.
It was decided to defer the Planning/Emergency Management position request for full-time back to the Personnel Committee to do a further review of this request before a decision is made.
It was also voted to table the ARPA funding request from Missaukee Mountain until the new ARPA Request Committee meets on Feb. 8.
