Mroczek named Miss Michigan 4th Runner Up

Lauren Mroczek of Mattawan, Miss Greater Kalamazoo, was named 4th Runner Up to Miss Michigan during the 86th annual Miss Michigan Scholarship Competition on Saturday, June 14, held at the Frauenthal Center in downtown Muskegon. As Miss Greater Kalamazoo, Lauren represents Kalamazoo and Calhoun counties. She was chosen among 22 women and earned $2500 in scholarships.
As part of the competition, contestants participate in five categories: private interview with the judges, on-stage question, lifestyle and fitness, talent and evening gown. Lauren’s Talent is a Jazz Dance to “Workin’ Day and Night” by Michael Jackson. Her Service Initiative is Feeding Ourselves: The Importance of Fruits and Vegetables, where she works to provide education and to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables, inspiring the regular consumption of fruits and vegetables to lower the risk of developing life-threatening chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
Lauren graduated from Mattawan High School and is a 2021 Graduate of Grand Valley State University and the Frederik Meijer Honors College where she studied Biomedical Science with an emphasis in Nutrition Science.
