New police officer sought

OTSEGO — Otsego chief Brad Misner, has announced the city is accepting resumes for a full-time police officer position from qualified candidates.
The City of Otsego has 24-hour police coverage to the citizens of Otsego.
An announcement by the city on the position points out the hours consist of 12-hour shifts, both days and nights, 5 a.m.-5 p.m., 5 p.m.-5 a.m., along with a swing shift starting between the hours of 1 p.m.-1 a.m. The City of Otsego has a population around 4.000 people.
Applicants need to be a U.S citizen, MCOLES licensed or eligible for licensing upon appointment; Pass the MCOLES reading/writing test; possess a valid driver’s license; have nom felony convictions and/or disqualifying criminal history; be able to pass a physical, drug screening and a pre-employment background investigation and hold high standard of moral character, be self-motivated and have good communication skills.
Benefits include a starting wage of $23.77/hour, after 5 years $34.65/hour; longevity eligible after five years of service; paid vacation leave, sick leave, bereavement leave, holiday leave and comp time, plus uniforms furnished and leaned.
Equipment will be provided by the city to include Footwear and health, optical, dental, and life insurance plus retirement and 457 plans are available.
