Service line work underway in subdivision
Crews from the city of Sturgis have begun work on lead water service line replacements in the Electric Court subdivision.
The project begins on South Electric, then proceeds to West Electric and Cornelia Street.
Residents are asked to plan for street/lane closures in that area, and seek an alternate travel route if possible.
‘Jesus March’ planned
“Jesus March” is scheduled for 3-11 p.m. June 22, beginning at Free Church Park. The walk begins around 4 p.m., proceeds to South Clay to Virginia Avenue and back to the park.
The event is not associated with a specific church, and the focus is praise, not a protest, according to organizer Rosanna Either.
City commissioners approved details of the request at a recent meeting board meeting, as a formality.
Cemetery history tour dates set
Sturgis Historical Society is planning to hold its annual tour Sept. 6-7 =at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
