David P. Bowers, born on June 23, 1944, in Howell, Michigan, lived a life marked by his generosity, friendly demeanor, and his wonderful sense of humor that touched the lives of his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
David shared a beautiful marriage with his loving wife Pamela, and together they cultivated a family that was the center of his world. David is survived by his Daughter, Julie Bowers, Daughter in law, Angela (Brian) Bowers, Grandchildren, Samantha (John) Oliver, Christine Bender, John (Lauren) Howe, Lucas (Carolyn) Howe, and Alex Bowers, 7 great-grandchildren with 2 more due in October, his sisters Susan (Mel) Gillett, and Norma Haydu, along with his sister-in-law, Becky (Chuck) Bowers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clare Bowers and Florence Bowers (Andersen), his brother, Chuck Bowers, his son, Brian Bowers, and his granddaughter, Jacqueline Howe.
Dave was a Master Mechanic, and proudly owned and operated Dave’s Auto Repair in Howell for 20 years, showcasing his love for, and many talents within the automotive industry. Eventually he became a Realtor, working with Century 21 Signature/Pioneer Realty in the Clare area for the past 21 years.
David had many hobbies. He deeply valued any time spent outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and loved spending time at the family cabin in the woods, with his family and friends. Watching the great-grandchildren play was at the top of his list for being entertained. The end of the day often found him on the deck with Pam, watching the water go by.
A Celebration of Life will be held for David from 12-4pm on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at the American Legion Devereaux Post 141, 3265 W Grand River Ave, Howell, MI 48855.
Memorial contributions can be made in David’s name to Greater Lansing Food Bank (Clare County), or the Salvation Army.
