Debora Sue Peck, age 74 of Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at the MyMichigan Medical Center of Midland. Deb was born the oldest of two children to William H. and FloraBell (Warren) Howey on March 3, 1950, in Flint, MI. Deb’s childhood and early life were spent in the Flint area, and she was a graduate of Burton’s Bendle High School class of 1968. After high school, Deb attended Mid-Michigan College and obtained a nursing degree to pursue a long career as an RN with the Sparrow Hospital in Lansing for many years and later as an in-home health inspector for the State of Michigan before retiring in the late ‘90’s. On August 23, 1980, Deb married James “Jim” Peck in Lansing, MI., and together they shared nearly thirty-eight years until Jim’s passing in July of 2018. In her younger years, Deb enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband Jim and rifle hunting for deer. She also greatly enjoyed time spent playing bingo with her mom, crafting and collecting antiques, and reading. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
Deb is survived by her younger brother Bill Howey of Sears, MI., and her nephew Will Howey of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Peck and her parents William H. and FloraBell Howey.
In keeping with Deb’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place in the Garfield Township Cemetery of Lake, where she will be laid to rest near her family in the spring of 2025.
