Obituary: Donna M. Hotchkiss

Donna M. Hotchkiss of Allegan, MI passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, peacefully at her home. Born September 6, 1929, in Allegan, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Lillian (Miller) Truax and was the wife of the late Kenneth Hotchkiss who passed away in 2017. Donna graduated from Allegan High School in 1946 and worked in the family dry cleaning business, JC Penny and years of service as an officer for the Allegan Eagles. Summers were spent at the family cottage at Eagle Lake entertaining family and friends while enjoying all activities of being on a lake. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Donna is survived by three children, Gary and Julie Hotchkiss, Julie English and Matt English, and George and Karen Hotchkiss, nine grandchildren, Ryan (Carrie) Hotchkiss, Danielle (Daniel) Mireles, Kasie (Doug) Meyaard, Trevor Hotchkiss, Cory Krotz and fiancé Adrienne Foltz, Tracy (Nick) Demitropoulos, Mason English and fiancé Alyssa Dehn, Shane (Heather) Hotchkiss and Sasha Hotchkiss Wilson. Several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her sister-in-law Lavina Hotchkiss.
Along with her husband and parents, Donna was preceded in death by her sisters Maxine (James) Austin, Barbara (Eugene) Austin, Betty (Ernie) Wolters, Shirley (Dick) Hoyer and brother-in-law Bud Hotchkiss.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery. Pastor Ronnie Ewing will officiate. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the service at the Allegan Eagles.
