Edwin Lee Woodard, 84, a beloved figure of Marion, Michigan, sadly left our world on July 5, 2024 after a life richly lived in service and kindness. Known for his devotion to God, Edwin was a beacon of light and hope in his community, touching lives through his church and the Marion Eagles. Edwin was born on December 4, 1939 in Lansing, Michigan to Warren and Isabel Woodard. Edwin graduated from Marion High School and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1958. Later, he joined the Army National Guard and the Army Reserve. In Lansing he worked for Diamond Rio and Oldsmobile as well as owning and operating his own service station. He was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment he spent with his family and friends. Edwin had the uncanny ability to connect with people in a deep and positive way. His passion for cars, racing and hunting and his unwavering spirit will forever be remembered. He is survived by Warren, his brother, Sharon, his sister, his two sons Robert and Troy. To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a memorial service will be held at the Sylvan Community Church on July 20, at 1pm. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed. Edwin loved the Lord and is with him now.
