Ervan Leroy Taylor, 61, of Three Rivers, Michigan, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
He was born July 11, 1962 in Three Rivers, the son of Charles and Agnes (Brooks) Taylor, and graduated from Three Rivers High School.
Ervan, also affectionately known as “ET,” worked at Three Rivers Hospital for some time, Harder’s Manufacturing for five years, Day International for 15 years, and most recently at American Axle & Manufacturing. For many years he was a member of Riverside Church and participated in many church events. He also always had his tools and handyman skills at the ready to help anyone who needed assistance in the community.
On June 25th, 1999 he married Xuangiang Le in Vietnam. They were introduced by a good friend and shared nearly 25 years together – helping others, restoring their home, gardening, traveling and enjoying time with family and friends.
For many years it was a rare occasion to find Ervan without a camera in hand, always ready to capture a memory. Ervan’s fondness for eating leftovers – especially mother’s cooking – earned him the nickname “Leftover King.” He loved reggae music and a good movie night but what lit him up the most was supporting and sharing about his children’s activities and accomplishments.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Taylor; his sister, Edna Jackson; and brother, Charles Taylor Jr. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Xuangiang Taylor; sons, Bronson Taylor and Weston (Shirley) Taylor; daughter, Whitney Taylor; granddaughters, Raelyn T. Hal and Skylar Taylor; mother, Agnes Taylor; brothers, Nathan Brooks, Donald, Eric (his twin), Theodore, and Michael Taylor; sisters, Kathy Taylor, Viola Johnson, and Dorcus Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers, with cremation to follow. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Church, 207 E. Michigan Ave., Three Rivers, with Pastor Paul Booko officiating.
Donations in Ervan’s name may be directed to his family in care of Xuangiang Taylor. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church, and may be sent to the funeral home in care of his arrangements.
