Obituary: Eva Mae (Soughton) Belden

Eva Mae (Stoughton) Belden, 94, of Allegan, MI passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Vicinia Gardens in Otsego. Born January 7, 1927 in Otsego, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Audrey (Edson) Stoughton. On July 4, 1947 she wed Clifford Leon Belden and they shared nearly thirty-one years of marriage prior to his passing in 1978. Mrs. Belden had enjoyed traveling throughout her life. She took trips to Las Vegas, Alaska, Hawaii and many other locations over the years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who deeply loved her family and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Belden is survived by her sons, Leon Clifford (Sue) Belden and Steven Allen (Diane) Belden; sisters, Betty Jean Galloway and Linda (Ted) Clark; sister-in-law, Jean Stoughton; grandchildren, Trevor (Tess) Belden, Ethan (Sarah) Belden, Corey (Felicia) Belden and Rebecca (Jeffrey) Hodges; and great-grandchildren, Miles and Aram Belden, Gabby, Olivia and Ivy Belden, Hunter (Cam), Trenten and Asher Belden, and Callen Hodges. Mrs. Belden is also survived by her longtime companion, John Tiggleman, and his family.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Morris (Jeanette) Stoughton, Jr., Shirley (Tom) Campbell, Donald Stoughton and Marvin Stoughton.

In accordance with her wishes, services will take place privately. Mrs. Belden will be laid to rest in Mallory Cemetery alongside her husband. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, MI 49010. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
