Obituary: Glennie Collins Wilson

Glennie Collins Wilson, 105, of Paw Paw, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at Rose Arbor Hospice, Kalamazoo.
She was born Oct. 9, 1919, in Dowagiac, MI, the daughter of Frank Lyle Brookfield and Nettie Eldora (Pecher) Brookfield.
Glennie worked for many years at Heddon Fishing Tackle, the first company to produce artificial fishing lures. Glennie lived in Michigan, Tennessee and California, but eventually made her way back to Michigan in 1992. Along with her own incredible memories of America 100+ years ago, Glennie loved to share stories about her own grandmother, who was a traveling minister back when the Dakotas were only a territory. She was a talented crocheter and would crochet 300-400 hats for the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission to give out on Christmas every year. Her family cherishes their own crocheted hats they were gifted. Glennie enjoyed doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles and reading. She will be deeply missed by her loving family.
She is survived by her daughter, Mikki Danneffel; grandchildren, David Labadie and Glenda Sealy; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jason and Misty and great-great grandchildren, Hope, Lauren, Robin, Keegan and Shiloh. She is also survived by her K-9 companion and best friend, Rosie.
Glennie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Billy Wilson.
Cremation has taken place. Per Glennie’s wishes, there will be no public services at this time. She will be laid to rest in Tennessee at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Centrica Care Navigators Rose Arbor Place.
