Gregory G. Smith, age 47 of Mt. Pleasant tragically left us on September 13, 2024. Greg was born on September 4, 1977 in Mt. Pleasant, MI, the son of George and Sandra Smith. He was raised in Farwell, MI and was a 1996 graduate of Farwell High School. Greg worked as a construction laborer for Anlaan Corporation for 25 years.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Christopher Schafer, and great niece Addison Bottrall. He is survived by his siblings Doug McGahan (Cindy) of Lake, Lola Schafer of Farwell, Carmen Clunie (Tom) of Lake, and twin sister Gloria Scholten (Jason) of Cadillac. Greg also leaves behind the beautifully blended family that he and Hollie created, consisting of his fiancé Hollie Krzyzanowski, twin sons Brayden and Dylan Smith, son Cody Krzyzanowski, and daughter Macie Krzyzanowski. Greg was also survived by nieces Sanya Bottrall (Nick), Linsey Paige (Josh), Erica Marble (Tyler), nephew Brendan Clunie, nieces McKenzie Kile, Megan Kile, and nephew Peyton Scholten as well as four great nieces and two great nephews.
Greg lived for his family and spent all of his spare time with them. He was such a great loving Father, brother, friend, and son. He loved sports, was a big Michigan fan, Detroit Lions fan, and Detroit Tigers fan. He loved watching his kids play sports. He was so proud of all of his kids. He had a smile and a laugh that could light up a room. Greg was so loved and will be greatly missed by so many.
Visitation and services will be held at the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at 1 P.M. with Pastor Christian Jorgensen officiating. Burial will be held in the Surrey Twp. Cemetery.
