Hazel Marie (Russell) Guigue passed peacefully on July 13, 2024, in South Haven. Hazel was born to her late parents Harold and Francis (Bushee) Russell on July 30, 1930, at her family homestead. Graduated 1948 from South Haven high school where she won the title of most bashful. She and her husband Ed were married in 1950, they purchased a sandy lot in Cedar Bluff Park. By 1953 a home was built, and Jeff was born. In 1955, Jan came along, and from there on it was always home. Every day they would go for a walk, holding hands to look at the lake and to this day they are remembered that way. Hazel was a quiet person who gave of herself never wanting anything in return. She loved the small things in life; gardening, her home and just drinking a cup of tea on the porch watching the birds and she could even pet a tree frog. She had a sly sense of humor that was loved by all. She helped at the church whenever needed. She always had a kind word for someone in need. She and her husband Ed did volunteer work for 10 winters with MMAP (Volunteer Mobile Missionaries (VMM, formerly MMAP). She was a beautiful quilter and gave many gifts. She will always be remembered fondly and was a mentor to many people, although she never knew it. One never left her home without a plate of cookies. She will be missed being seen taking a daily walk along with her husband Ed by so many. Ed and Hazel were married for 72 and a half faithful years.
Survived by son Jeff and Diane (Hanes), daughter Jan and husband Mike (Craig), grandson
Brian and Melissa (Ferens), brothers Larry Russell, Richard and Sheryl (de Best) Russell and
