Jackie Vasich passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2024, at the age of 81. Jackie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Born on December 1, 1942, in Centerline, Michigan, to William Prell and Elsie Bender, Jackie grew up surrounded by love and values she carried forward into her own life.
Jackie married the love of her life, Ron Vasich, in May 1967, and together they built a family filled with laughter, kindness, and a deep commitment to one another. She raised her children with boundless love and was an ever-present source of encouragement and support. A natural teacher at heart, Jackie served as a Girl Scout leader and a teacher’s aide at Trinity Lutheran Church, where she left a lasting impact on many young lives.
Jackie found joy in every aspect of her community. For ten years, she lovingly prepared meals for the priests at St. Blase Rectory in Sterling Heights, filling their days with warmth and nourishment. Her kindness extended far beyond her family; anyone who knew her felt her gentle care and generosity.
Jackie was a talented crafter with a special love for crocheting blankets and creating beautiful cross-stitch pieces. Each piece she made was a labor of love, gifted to her children and grandchildren as lasting reminders of her creativity and care. Her hands were never still, always creating something beautiful to share with others.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Jackie’s memory will be cherished by all who were blessed to know her. May her soul rest peacefully.
