Janet Louise Hamay, 80, of Paw Paw, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, at Maple Lake Assisted Living, Paw Paw. She was born April 6, 1944, in Coloma, MI, the daughter of Carl and Emma (Behnke) Skibbe.
Janet retired from the United States Postal Service, where she worked as a carrier for 32 years. She loved to travel around the United States and go sight-seeing. She especially looked forward to trips to the casino. Janet took pride tending to her garden, flower beds and bird watch-ing.
She was united in marriage to Walter Hamay, who preceded her in death Dec. 2, 2013.
She is survived by her two sons, Jon (Michelle Wood) Hamay of Mears, MI, and James (Ma-rie) Hamay of Jackson, MI; four grandchildren, Hannah (Stephen) Barnes, McKinzie Hamay, Hunter and Colton Hamay; two sisters, Wanda Ray, Ruth (Phil) Coulson; brother, Frank (Fran) Skibbe.
In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Marga-ret Rogel, and her brother, Lester Skibbe.
Services were held Dec. 6, at Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. The burial took place at Glendale Cemetery.
