Obituary: Kenneth “Ken” Lee Beougher

AUGUST 31, 1949 – SEPTEMBER 6, 2024

                Kenneth “Ken” Lee Beougher age 75 of Lake George, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 6, 2024. Kenneth was born August 31, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Archie F. Beougher and Mildred L. (Scoles) Beougher. He graduated from Merrill High School in 1967, furthering his education, Ken graduated from Ferris State College of Pharmacy School in 1972 and completed his master’s degree a few years later. Soon after his graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country for over twenty-one years, including a tour in Operation Desert Storm. He retired from the Army in 1994 as a Lt. Colonel. He finished his working career as an Oncology Pharmacist until 2018, when he retired for a second time.

                Mr. Beougher was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ms. Marla K. Bergey on February 3, 1973 in Saginaw, Michigan. Ken and Marla were residents of Lake George for several years, and were formerly of Merrill, Michigan. Ken was passionate about polishing and driving his beloved Corvette. At different stages of his life he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, reading, building racing bicycles, bicycling, shooting, traveling, scuba diving, gardening, and as a young man, farming with his father and brothers.

                Surviving Ken is his love of fifty-one years, Mrs. Marla K. Beougher of Lake George, son, Captain Blair W. Beougher and wife Erin Knight Beougher of Colorado Springs, Colorado, grandson, Colin T. Beougher. Ken received an enormous amount of support in this journey from his best high school buddy, “Melvin”, (Jack Hutfilz), plus many extended family members and friends.

                Celebration of Life services honoring Ken will be held Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the American Legion Post 404, 1267 M-61, Harrison, with Mr. Ben Evers officiating. A time of gathering will commence at 1:30 p.m. until time of service. Military honors will follow immediately after services under the auspices of the United States Army Honor Guard and the American Legion Honor Guard.
