Obituary: Kim Marie Ter Beek

Kim Marie Ter Beek, age 62, of Hamilton, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Kim was a courageous, strong, and determined woman who overcame many obstacles in her life; including bravely facing her cancer treatments. She was always willing to help others, even during her own illness, often providing soup meals and flowers to those needing a lift in spirit. She loved her cat, Callie, and enjoyed going to steam shows and traveling with her best friend, Lyle.

Kim was preceded in death by her, husband, Lloyd Ter Beek; daughter, Jacqueline Armstrong; father, Raymond Shelton; twin brother, Kevin Shelton; and other siblings, Dwight Shelton and Brenda Tenckinck.

Kim is survived by her son, Tom Armstrong; grandchildren, Kyrstina Shelton, Jayson Armstrong, Troy Armstrong, Anya Armstrong; mother, 

Mary Shelton; siblings, Phyllis (DeWayne) Kirby, Deborah Shelton, LeAnn (Darwin) Volkers, Randy (Amy) Shelton, Theresa Zeh and Jeff Carter, Tammy (Chuck) Kleis, Rodney Shelton; in-laws, Susie Watson, Lavita Shelton; special niece who was very close to Kim, Janet Smith; many other nieces, nephews, and cousins; and best friend, Lyle Lugten.

A memorial service is planned for 10:00am Monday, August 5, at Life Change Community Church, 3014 Newell St., Burnips, with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Hamilton. Memorial contributions may be made to Kittens in the Mitten, Inc. and Hungry for Christ.
