Obituary: Robert Leon Leslie, 70

Robert Leon Leslie, 70 of Allegan, Michigan, reunited with his loving wife, Kim, on Sunday, July 10, 2022 with his family by his side. Born March 29, 1952 in Douglas, Michigan, he was the son of the late Earl and Helen (Sisson) Leslie. Robert enjoyed playing basketball, football and track and was voted most outstanding player athlete his senior year of high school. Robert also played football for Hope College. He was a hard-working man who provided a wonderful life for his family, working as a supervisor at Riviera Cruises, Clark Equipment, Bohn Industries and finally Striko Dynarad from which he retired. Robert’s work ethic was impeccable, serving as a great role model for his children. To his family, he was known as the “Grill Master” since he loved to grill steaks and barbeque different meats. Robert was a very proud father who enjoyed spending time with his children and later, his grandchildren. They all brought him so much joy and together they have many treasured memories of time spent with him.
Robert is survived by his children, Ami (Brian) Salisbury, Amber Lugten, Emily Leslie, and Joanna Leslie; two siblings, Patricia (Tom) Jeffrey and Pamela (Jerry) Bird; and four grandchildren, Aaron Salisbury, Kalyn Salisbury, Cameron Lugten, and Madison Lugten.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Allegan United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM with a luncheon to follow. Robert will be laid to rest beside his wife, Kim, in the Fennville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert’s name to Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, MI 49010.
