Shirley Brandt 88, of Farwell Michigan went to be with her Lord on October 18th 2024. Shirley had her daughter Susan,by her side. Shirley had battled with numerous strokes the last of which left her blind.
Born Shirley Martha Suchner in Detroit Michigan November 16th 1935 to Freida & Oswald Suchner. Shirley graduated in 1954 from Lutheran High School in Detroit. She was a member of the Lutheran High School Choir and traveled with the Choir sharing their music around Michigan. She met the love of her life Richard, while attending the young adult group, Walther League at her Church. Shirley married Richard “Dick” Brandt September 10th 1955. Shirley and Dick raised 4 children in a loving Christian home. She loved traveling, going for rides on Fall color tours around Michigan and the Northeast US. She was very artistic, loved to paint, made many stained-glass items and enjoyed decorating her home. She loved entertaining and cooking. She served her community in numerous civic organizations of which included The Clare Irish Committee and Detroit Area Council BSA Cub Scout training committee. She enjoyed being a member of The Red Hats of White Birch Lakes. Mostly she loved her family, especially the grandchildren.
Survived by the love of her life Richard, children Susan Haslacker Farwell MI, Mark Brandt Sheridan IN, Jeffrey Brandt (Denise) Mt Pleasant MI, Scott Brandt (Lisa) Lancaster SC. 14 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grand Children. She is preceded in death by parents Oswald Paul Suchner & Freida Augusta Suchner (Preibe), brothers Charles Suchner & Paul Suchner, Daughter-in-law Shelia E Brandt and great grandchild Jeffrey Cooley.
Funeral Service will be held on November 2, 2024 at St Luke Lutheran Church Harrison Michigan 48625 at 11:00a.m. Family & friends will meet for reflection following the ceremony.
