Obituary: Stephen D. Rogers

AUGUST 8, 1947 – SEPTEMBER 3, 2024
Stephen D. Rogers age 77 of Harrison went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Stephen was born on August 8, 1947 in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire the son of Francis M. Rogers and Alfreda (Gagne) Rogers. Stephen honorable served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Stephen was united in marriage to Ms. Kathy J. Perry on April 6, 1974 in Pontiac, Michigan.
Mr. Rogers had resided in Harrison since 2013, moving from Waterford, Michigan. He was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church, Lake, Michigan. Stephen spent his working career as a truck driver. He considered himself as an “outdoorsman”, where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time in the woods, especially when his beloved German Shepards were joining him. Stephen also enjoyed watching televised football, and cheering for his favorite team, the Patriots.
Surviving Mr. Rogers is his loving wife of fifty years, Mrs. Kathy J. Rogers of Harrison, four wonderful children; Lori Staples and husband Rick of Lowell, Maine, Robert “Bob” Rogers of Bloomingdale, Ohio, Kelly Rogers of Waterford and Stephen “Steve” Rogers of Commerce, Michigan, three grandchildren; Devon, Katelyn and Emily, plus many nieces, nephews and his church family. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Margaret and four brothers; Francis, James, Robert and David.
Funeral Services and military honors for Mr. Rogers will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from Liberty Baptist Church, 6007 Mannsiding Road, Lake, Michigan 48632, with Pastor Doyle W. Ross III officiating. A time of visitation will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. A luncheon will be following services at Liberty Baptist Church. Burial will be at Christian Memorial Gardens West, Rochester Hills, Michigan on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial gifts in memory of Mr. Rogers may be considered to: Liberty Baptist Church.
