Stephen Franklin Hall, lifelong resident of the Marion area passed away at home, with family by his side, on Sunday, May 19, 2024. He was 77.
Steve was born on September 9, 1946, in Reed City, Michigan to Forrest Franklin and Ella Mae (Butler) Hall. He grew up in the area and became a graduate of Marion High School before enlisting in the United States Navy. He proudly served his country and returned home to begin a brief career as an EMT and County Sheriff’s Deputy. During that time Steve had begun taking local classes in electronics and computers, and before too long took over teaching some of the courses. Eventually, that knowledge and passion for technology blossomed into a 35 plus year career in building and fixing home PC’s in addition to providing other technical support. Steve enjoyed his time on the computer but also enjoyed reading and read a lot! He often spent time reading sci-fi and military books, or basically anything else he could get his hands on. Steve will be deeply missed.
Stephen is survived by his significant other, Carol S. Hendrickson of Marion; his children, Forrest Hall, Leander “Lee” Hall, and Micheal Hall; step-children, Elaine Hendrickson, Michael Milligan, and Lauren Bester; grandchildren, Stewart and Emma Hall; one brother, Donald (Jean) Hall; one sister, Debbie Bowman; as well as many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Leon Hall, Larry Ray Hall, Emmett Hall, Glenn Hall, Robert Hall, and Charlie Hall; and two sisters, Marcia Kipp and Betty Mae Fewless-Baum.
