Timothy Michael Nevins of Winter Haven FL passed away on January 1, 2022 at a skilled nursing facility in Tampa, FL after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Tim was born on June 29, 1959 at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac, MI to John (Jack) Nevins and Barbara Jean (Coldberg) Nevins. He attended Marion Elementary School from 1963 to 1969 when the family relocated to Winter Haven, FL. Here he continued his education at Jewett Elementary School, Denison Junior Hight, and Winter Haven High School. He began working as a welder with Valiant Products Inc. in 1983 where he spent his entire 34 year working career. He retired in 2017 as Purchasing & Procurement Manager.
Growing up, Tim experienced a childhood physical illness which prevented him from playing sports. His love of nature and outdoors, led to him enjoy rifle and bow hunting, as well as fishing from early in childhood.
As an adult, Tim was a devoted and loving father to his two children and grandchildren. He was frequently described as a calm, loyal, dependable, and selfless person. Tim was truly a man grateful for what he had and took pride in his work and family. He was not a man driven by ego. He was a man driven to provide and be there for the things and people he cherished most. His love for his family and friends was evident by his caring attitude and his gentle spirit. He was an amazing father, big brother, protector and friends.
Tim is survived by his two children: Timothy M. Nevins Jr of Tampa, FL and Sarah Nevins of Winter Haven, FL. His two grandchildren: Carson Hargo and Carlee Nevins. His mother: Barbara Coldberg of Glasgow, KY and his two siblings: David Nevins or Winter Haven, FL and sister Paula Nevins of Marion, MI as well as other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Tim was proceeded in death by his father John (Jack) Nevins.
A graveside memorial service with interment of ashes will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1pm in Greenwood Cemetery in Marion, MI.
