Obituary: Walter “Bill” William Gamble

Walter “Bill” William Gamble, age 80, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice Campus in North Venice, FL.
Funeral Services for Bill will be held at Brown Corners Church, 5540 South Clare Avenue, Clare, Michigan 48617, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Connie Bongard officiating. The family will receive friends at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 17, from 5 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at Brown Corners Church the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.
Bill was born on December 16, 1944, in Mt. Pleasant, son of Kenneth and Myra R. (Orether) Gamble. He received his bachelors degree from Ferris State University in 1967. Bill married the love of his life, Cathy Lynn Zimmerman on April 1, 1967, in Detroit. Bill’s first redi mix plant was opened in Evart, buying the Harrison redi mix plant from his parents in 1970. Bill retired in 2019, after being very successful. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bill loved to go skiing and traveling with his family and enjoyed watching football and basketball.
Bill is survived by his wife, Cathy Gamble of Harrison; sons, Kenneth (April) Gamble and Kevin (Leighann) Gamble, all of Harrison; grandchildren, Allison (David), Kevin Roy II, Gabrielle, Megan, and Ashlynn; siblings, Ken (Gloria) Gamble of Harrison, Dianne Bentley of Gladwin, and Teresa (Bill) Jackson of Harrison; brother-in-law, Roy Donald Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Carl Zimmerman; and and sister-in-law, Karen Randolph.
