Obituary: Wanda Fay Nolen

Wanda Fay Nolen, 87, of Mattawan, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at her home with her daughters by her side.
There will be a celebration of life Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. at the Paw Paw Eagles Club. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw, with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Decatur.
Wanda was born May 21, 1935, in Barwick, Kentucky. In her early years, she worked in food processing, a job she truly loved. In later years, Wanda worked as a caregiver to patients with Alzheimer’s. She was a second mom to many of her nieces and nephews. Wanda always put family first and was an incredible mom, grandma, and aunt.
Wanda is survived by her four children, James (Brenda) Belcher, Gary Krueger, Janet Nolen and Kathy Nolen; 14 grandchildren, Richard Belcher, Amanda Belcher, Bud Belcher, Brandy Hooton, Sarah Williams, Jimmy (Stacey) Belcher, Jamie (Josh) Houghton, Abby Krueger, Ashley Krueger, Payton Krueger, Piper Krueger, Brianna (Jordan) Chopp, Jenna (Alex) Kahila and Annalice White; 11 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Callie Jones and Abriela Bodmier.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Edna New; her son, Albert Belcher; and her siblings, Christine Fields, Johnny, Alex, Roscoe, Roy, Russell, Robert and Herman New.
Wanda was very passionate about the many groups that she was active with, including, the National Rifle Association, American Legion, Eagles, Elks, Veterans Affairs, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Ladies Auxiliary with the VFW, Falling Waters Land of Pow Wow and the Moon Sisters. Her most active participation was in Veterans Affairs, as most of her brothers were involved in wars.
