Old 27 Motor Tour comes to Clare, Harrison Street Fair next week

This year’s 18th annual Old U.S. 27 Motor Tour arrives in Clare County August 22nd for an evening visit in the City until they leave on the morning of the 23rd to head for an afternoon visit at the Harrison Street Fair.
Each August since 2006, a long line of vintage and classic cars have arrived in Clare filling the downtown streets on a Thursday evening, where they take part in a summer celebration in their honor. After an overnight stay, on Friday, it will be time for the beautiful old vehicles to head north on the old road again for their annual afternoon display and visit with the crowds in Harrison during that community’s 18th annual Street Fair.
The cars will begin arriving in Clare at approximately 6 pm Thursday filling McEwan Street from 3rd to 5th and 4th Street from Beech to Pine. There will be a performance by Night Shift welcoming them to the community.
If you are a local bringing your own classic vehicle, special parking has been arranged in the Doherty’s north parking lot, right by the band.
Friday morning the classic cars move on to Harrison, where they will be featured during the Harrison Street Fair, which begins Friday when the Old 27 Motor Tour rolls in for a 11 am to 3 pm visit before the they move on in their northern journey. Meanwhile, at the Harrison Street Fair, There will be over 130 vendors; 9 food trucks; and Live Entertainment Both Days until 11p at the Splash Pad/Town Square! It’s FREE family fun! Both Friday and Saturday booths filled with crafts, vendors and food will be on hand from 10 am to 7 pm. And a Beer Tent will be open from noon to 11 pm. And, Live Music will be ongoing. From 11 am to 2 pm there will be a Veterans’ Display at Freedom Park and a Huge Book Sale will be happening at the Harrison District Library. In addition, all day both days Harrison Community Schools will host Robotics, Football and Cheer Teams.
On Friday, the Lord of the Goard will be at the library and the music line-up is Jose the D3 at 11 am; The Josh Ramses Band at 3 pm and the Real Deal Blues Bank at 7 pm.
Saturday, the Budd Lake Walk begins at 9 am and the American Legion Fun Run starts at 10 am.
From 10 am to 1 pm there will be games at the library and a Trout Pond until 3 pm. The Twenty Lakes Antique Engine and Tractor Club will display antique tractors on Main Street all day. Also on Main, there will be a Kids Carnival from 11 am to 3 pm.
Saturday’s music line-up includes Woodman Unplugged at 11 am; Crosstown Drifters at 3 pm and the Triple Beam Band at 7 pm.
