MARION – The Osceola County Board of Commissioners, at its meeting last week, voted to approve acknowledgement and use of the county logo to recognize the first responders by providing certificates for a recent lifesaving award.
The commissioners voted to approve placing the Evart Commission on Aging building for sale for a listing price of $400,000.
“This was following a market analysis by a realtor within that price range,” commissioner Roger Elkins, of Evart said.
The new center being planned for the Hersey site is replacing the Evart building.
Commissioners decided to approve the resolution for imposing 2022 millage rates for the general fund budget as presented.
The commission also voted to approve the Equalization Department to hire a part-time office staff.
“They had a staff member having some health issues,” Elkins said. “This was to hire someone part-time to fill the rest of this.”
The commission voted to approve maintaining the parks expenditure policy as it is written.
“The parks policy reads a little differently than the regular county expenditure policy,” Elkins said. “The new parks director was there and was asking for clarification. There is a county policy and then there’s the parks policy.”
