Osceola to spend ARPA funds on parking lot renovation

MARION – The Osceola County Board of Commissioners voted at its Monday meeting to approve the ARPA Core Committee’s recommendation of up to $200,000 ofARPA funds for the Courthouse and Sheriff’s parking lot renovation.
Commissioners voted to have the remaining balance of monies from the boiler rebuild towards a new AC unit for the courthouse.
Commissioners voted to have the maintenance department to have the boiler rebuilt for a cost of $50,746.28 by Dean Boiler, Inc. and to waive the purchasing policy.
The board approved Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc.’s bid of $183,980 for renovating the parking lot at the Courthouse and Sheriff Department.
The board cancelled the PO from United EMS for $6,945.44 and authorized a new PO to B&D Classic Sewn for $5,104 for new polo shirts and the embroidery for the EIV1S Department. Commissioners voted to hire a new Payroll/Human Resources Specialist to fill a vacancy.
The board approved the updated travel, conferences, meals, and lodging policy with increasing breakfast to $15, lunch to $20, and dinner to $30.
Commissioners approved soliciting a RFP for a Realtor to serve the county for a 1-year term for all property sales and purchases.
The board approved the Clerk to sign off on titles for five vehicles/trailer which were sold per the RFP.
Commissioners approved the following vehicle sales: 2000 Ford F150 to Andy Parmelee for $669; 2006 Ford Freestar LE to Brian Olender for $601; and 5 x 10 utility trailer to Andy Parmalee for $369.
The board voted to approve selling the following vehicles as scrap: 2005 Ford Expedition and 2005 Chevy 3500 Express Van.
