PAW PAW – At the Monday, March 9, Paw Paw Township Board meeting, board members approved a request from the Paw Paw fire chief for needed tools for a new fire truck.
Paw Paw Fire Department Fire Chief Kyle Richardson submitted a request to the township board for the purchase of Milwaukee tools, thermal imaging, and nozzles for the new fire department truck. Board members approved a motion for up to $12,600 for the needed tools for the new truck, with the intent of asking other municipalities for assistance in paying for part.
The board approved the township sexton and maintenance contract.
The township board is currently in discussion on an office manager and wage change. The board said it would gather more information on whether the office manager can be sworn in to multiple positions.
The board also approved amotion for a pay increase to $21.50 for the Paw Paw Senior Center director.
Following a roll call vote, the board approved a motion for a price increase on township cemetery charges, effective April 1.
Township Board member Jim DeGroff told fellow board members that the Paw Paw Township Planning Commission is expected to have the Paw Paw Township Master Plan ready for the Township Board to review at the April or May meeting.
