PAW PAW – The Paw Paw Township Board, at the beginning of its meeting Feb. 9, held a moment of silence for former Paw Paw Planning Commission member Randall Peat, who died earlier that day.
Paw Paw Township Board member Jim DeGroff informed the board that the Planning Commission had another large turnout for the township’s Master Plan Open House. DeGroff said the township Master Plan is nearly complete, pending concerns that need to be addressed from residents living near Lake Cora
Township Board member Dennis Reynolds read a report submitted by the township Fire Board. The Paw Paw Fire Department responded to five calls for Paw Paw Township, 23 in total for January. They included two structure fires, one fatality, an assist at the grain bins in Decatur, and a lithium battery fire. The report noted that FedEx will pay for the decontamination from the lithium battery fire.
