PAW PAW – A standing room only crowd voiced compliments and concerns Thursday, July 18, about recent concerts at Warner Vineyards during the Paw Paw Village Planning Commission meeting held at the Paw Paw Township Hall. The meeting had been rescheduled from the Fourth of July holiday.
During the meeting, which lasted just over three hours, most who attended, spoke in favor of Pat Warner continuing the concert series, which features live music several nights a week, according to Tom Palenick, a Planning Commission member.
Many who spoke said the concerts have created a positive economic impact to many Paw Paw businesses, according to Palenick.
Warner said that he was open to earlier shut-off times, and making sure profanity is not used. He also said he would seek out advice from engineers on the venue’s acoustics.
“We’re trying to reach a happy medium,” said Palenick. According to Palenick, current villages ordinances don’t cover a lot of what was being addressed.
No decisions were reached that night, according to Palenick. He said the Planning Commission will discuss the issue during the coming weeks before reaching any decisions.
