Paw Paw wrestler third at state

PAW PAW — Paw Paw Varsity sophomore Kholby Armijo placed third at the MHSAA Individual State Finals at Ford Field this weekend.
Kholby Armijo went 4-1 during the state tournament, battling through a highly competitive field to secure a spot on the podium. The third-place finish highlights a remarkable sophomore campaign in which he compiled an impressive 49-7 overall record.
“A huge thanks to the coaching staff, including head coach Victor Armijo, Niko Martinez and Jon Ranger for the daily grind, dedication, and commitment they put into helping Kholby succeed this season,”Victory Armijo said. “Kholby’s success reflects months of hard work and preparation. The Paw Paw wrestling program also expresses appreciation for the continued encouragement from local community members and the Paw Paw Athletic Boosters for their continued support of our athletes throughout the season.
“With two years of eligibility still ahead of him, Armijo’s strong performance at the state level signals a promising future for the Paw Paw wrestling program.”
