Paw Paw wrestlers are fourth

PAW PAW — The Paw Paw wrestling team took to Olivet for the John Burton boys and girls tournament on Saturday. After a grueling 10-hour tournament the boys team ended up taking fourth place out of 20 teams with 141 points.
The girls team walked away in ninth place out of 30 teams with 69.5 points. Athletes that placed at the tournament were:
Kholby Armijo 4-0, champion in the 165-pound bracket.
He pinned Carson Endsley of Bellevue in 1:21, Cody Pollock of Lawton in 2:35, and Carter Swinehart of Schoolcraft in 41 seconds.
Gunner Gale, 3-1, second place at 190 pounds. He pinned Trenton Daily of Schoolcraft in 2:34, he pinned Preston Hochstedler of Quincy in 1:10, and he beat Ron Jones 16-0 with a technical fall. In the finals, Gales lost 19-18 to Derious Robinson of Middleville Thornapple Kellogg.
Kameron Armijo, 4-1, third place.
Carter Thompson, 4-1, third place at 150 pounds. He beat Luke Waller. He pinned Marco Garcia in 1:21 and then lost to Van Wirttz on a pin in 1:21. He pinned Joey Abbeg of Quincy in 49 seconds and Levi Chapin of Thornapple-Kellogg in 2:10/
Aaron Quiles, 3-2, fourth place.
Sophia Fonseca, 3-2, fourth place.
Brookelynn Mosier, 3-2, fourth place.
