Alejandra Tienda Paz, a senior at Mattawan High School, became the district’s first ever recipient of the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy. She earned the prestigious recognition for her proficiency in both English and Spanish and will receive a special seal on her diploma. The district said several more students are on track to earn this honor next year. The MI Seal of Biliteracy celebrates students who have achieved a high level of skill in English and an-other world language.
