Dylan Michael Percival, 23, from the Pullman area, was charged with 10 counts, including assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, aggravated assault, reckless discharge of a firearm, being a habitual offender and other weapons charges after he allegedly shot his pregnant girlfriend
He pled guilty to two weapons charges and aggravated domestic violence. Percival will face up to 10 years, a judge decided Monday. He’ll get credit for the 4.5 months he’s already served.
On June 15, ACSO said Allegan Central Dispatch received a call from a home on 105th Avenue in Lee Township that a pregnant woman had been shot.
The Lee Township contract deputy arrived at the scene and began first aid on the woman. Deputies say she was taken to a local hospital. She and the baby were treated and were in good condition at the time of first reporting.
According to ACSO, the victim was in an argument with Percival. During the argument, Percival had a pistol that went off, hitting the woman in her abdomen and leg.
Percival and his pregnant girlfriend were arguing about his “lifestyle and life choices,” a witness said in court documents.
During that argument, the witness said Percival pulled out a gun from his waistband and racked a round through the slide to “prove it was real.”
As he was playing with the gun, the witness told authorities, the gun went off, hitting her.
Percival left the scene on a motorcycle that was reported stolen, ACSO said.
Deputies were able to find the gun. They made contact with Percival over the phone while trying to find him.
After several tips from the community, Percival was found on June 17 and taken into custody.
Percival recently served time in prison for felonious assault and the possession of Methamphetamine.
