PPMS principal retiring

After serving 16 years as principal at Paw Paw Middle School, Jerry McDaniel will be retiring later this year.
“I am leaving Paw Paw after 16 years as principal at the middle school,” said McDaniel. “This will be my last year as principal, but I am looking at either a July 1 retirement date, or Oct. 1, depending on military service credit.  I have had 30 years of education service, 10 years in Portage teaching, 3.5 years at Jackson-Parma Western as an assistant principal, and then 15.5 years here,” he told The Courier-Leader.
He continued, “When I took this job in December of 2010, I knew that this would be the district I retire from.  I am excited for the possibilities after retirement even though I am not sure what I will do.  The staff at PPMS is great and I have no concerns that the students will be well taken care of.”
