Road Commission begins work on Red Arrow Highway

LAWRENCE – The Van Buren County Road Commission began work Monday, July 28, along Red Arrow Highway from County Road 681 west to the Hartford city limits. The project will be accomplished by Michigan Paving and Materials Company and involves milling the existing asphalt surface and re-paving the roadway at a cost of approximately $1,136,935.
One lane of traffic will remain open throughout the duration of the project, which is expected to take approximately four weeks, including final restoration. Flaggers will be stationed to assist motorists and ensure safe, efficient traffic flow through the work zone.
Van Buren County Road Commission Managing Director Bret Witkowski expressed his thanks to the motoring public for their patience and cooperation while this work is being accomplished. “We are confident you will find that the long-term benefit of this road improvement project will outweigh any temporary inconvenience you may experience.”
Anyone with questions regarding the project is urged to contact the Van Buren County Road Commission by phone at (269) 674-8011, or by email at: vbcrc@vbcrc.org.
