RockingFest On the Square returned for its fifth year in a row in downtown LaFayette on Alabama Avenue East and First Street Southeast during the late morning and afternoon hours of Saturday, November 16th of 2024. Ringing those jingle bells for an early start to the holiday season, the family oriented occasion which was free and open to the public offered a wide variety of chil-dren’s activities, arts and crafts, retail vendors and fresh food options with something for every palate and preference. Hosted by the Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, the annual fes-tival has become synonymous with joyrides on the world’s largest rocking horse which gives the celebration its unique moniker.
In a post to the official facebook page for the GVACC event, it stated “We are excited for the fifth Annual RockingFest on the Square in Downtown LaFayette, AL., where we are home to the World’s Largest Rocking Horse. Other attractions will include the following: Ice Skating Rink, Everest Climb N Slide, Santa Claus & Friends, Toboggan Tunnel, Food Vendors, and over 100 Arts & Craft Vendors. Come Rock With Us!”
Commenting on their outstanding experience at the festival, one facebook user remarked “It was a WONDERFUL day at 2024 RockingFest on The Square hosted by our Greater Valley Area Cham-ber of Commerce !!! Such an amazing event with amazing vendors! I am already looking forward to next year. Watching first hand how much work, time and effort that is put into this awesome event I could not be more thankful for our Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors, Ambassadors, Jr. Ambassadors, The City of LaFayette, Sponsors, Volunteers, Vendors and EVERYONE in between!!! Y’all are rock stars.”
