Benny Diaz and Nate Firmiss combined for five hits for the Saugatuck baseball team against St. Joseph Michigan Lutheran on Monday, April 25.
That, however, wasn’t enough to carry the Trailblazers to a win, as they finished on the wrong end of a 12-7 final score.
Diaz went 3-for-5 with two doubles, while Firmiss went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Saugatuck scored five of its runs in the fifth inning, with singles by Colin Garcia, Firmiss, Cass Stanberry and Ethan Avery serving as key hits.
