After an initial round of appointments to various boards and commissions on May 19, 2025, the South Haven City Council voted on additional nominations on June 2, 2025.
Mayor Annie Brown nominates people for board and commission vacancies and the City Council then votes on those nominations or suggests alternatives.
The City Council approved Eric Koch to fill a three-year term on the Harbor Commission.
Eddie Polk and Paul Fitton were approved for three-year terms on the Planning Commission.
Brandi Coulombe and Amy Nichols gained approval for three-year terms on the Zoning Board of Appeals. In an initial vetoing on June 2, Steve Runkle was not approved for a new term. However, he later won approval as an alternate member. Also, Don Bemis was not at first approved, but was, in a vote on a motion, approved to replace Runkle on the ZBA. A vote on Hayes Greer ended in a tie and he was not, therefore, approved. Finally, in a motion by Council Member Mary Hosley, Lisa Krupiarz was approved as an alternate member of the ZBA.
With Paul Fitton’s approval for a three-year term on the Planning Commission, he had to resign from the ZBA. That leaves a vacancy on the ZBA. Also, with a recent resignation from the Parks Commission, one opening exists there as well. It is expected that Mayor Brown will nominate replacements at a future City Council meeting.
