South Haven sweeps Berrien Springs

SOUTH HAVEN — South Havens softball team won games handily on March 26 over Berrien Springs 14-0 and 15-0.
In the first game South had four runs in the first, six in the second one int he third and four in the fourth. South Haven had an 8-1 hits advantage and took advantage of three Berrien Springs errors.
For the Rams, Molly Verseput had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored. Madi Dotson had one hit and three RBIs, plus a run scored. Grace Strebeck had one hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Addi Dekong had a hit, two walks and three runs scored. K. Chalupa had two hit, one RBI and two runs scored.
Verseput was the winning pitcher, going all five innings, allowing one hit, and one walk and striking out eight.
In the second game, South Haven had 11 hits and no errors. Berrien Springs had two hits and one error. The winners had 10 runs in the first, four in the second and one int he third.
Verseput had three hits including a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Dekoning had two hits including a triple three RBIs and two runs scored. Chalupa had two hits and two RBIs. Dotson had two hits, one RBI and two runs scored.
Dekoning was the winning pitcher, allowing no ransom two his and striking out four.
