State Police investigate fatal crash

ANTWERP TWP. A 41-year-old Paw Paw man was killed Saturday afternoon, Sept. 13, in a head-on crash in Antwerp Township, according to a press release from the Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post.
Troopers said the crash occurred at 2:15 p.m. on Red Arrow Highway near 25th Street. MSP reported a Dodge passenger car and Jeep SUV collided head-on while traveling on Red Arrow Highway.
Circumstances of crash are unclear, according to MSP. The driver of the Dodge, a 41-year-old Paw Paw man, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to MSP. The driver of Jeep sustained minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. MSP said it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor. MSP was assisted by Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office EMS, and Mattawan Fire and Police.
The investigation is ongoing.
