Kevin Conklin, a member of the Decatur VFW, and Veterans of Foreign Wars National Council member representing the State of Michigan, traveled to Washington, D.C., Feb. 28 through March 6 to meet with legislators concerning veterans’ issues and benefits. Conklin said these efforts are what contributed to the PACT Act being signed. The PACT Act is a law that expands VA health care and benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances.
