Stay off ice, pier- danger lurks

The South Haven lighthouse and pier heads are attractive to sightseers, even in the winter months. But danger lurks. These scenes from Saturday were taken at South Beach. A South Haven police officer can be seen escorting folks off the pier. Earlier in the week South Haven Area Emergency Services (SHAES) responded to a report of a person falling off an ice shelf into the lake. The person was able to safely rescue.
