William Carl (Bill) Stuenkel, age 74, of Hollywood FL, passed away on November 25, 2021.
Bill Stuenkel was born on December 10th, 1946, in Allegan, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State University as a Civil Engineer. He worked for American Bridge a division of U.S. Steel. He built dozens of bridges across the United States including the record setting New River Gorge Bridge. He also built many buildings including the steel framing of the New Orleans Saints Super Dome. He was Project Manager on the building of the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport. He also worked on the expansion of the Fort Lauderdale International Airport in Florida. He retired as a Vice President for HNTB management of the Miami International Airport in Florida. He participated in Boy Scouts of America in his youth and was involved as a leader when his sons were Boy Scouts. Bill was an avid reader with a quest to expand his knowledge across a wide range of topics. He never shied away from a conversation in which he could share that knowledge. He was active in the Cystic Fibrosis foundation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a Sunday school teacher, Youth leader and Chairman of the Elder Board in his church.
He is survived by, his daughter, Terriann, son Curt (Krista), son Joshua (Kim), his grandchildren Kiera, Emma, Ashton and Elijah, his sister Patricia (Pat) Irey also, his wife Yvette Proctor and stepson Michie Owens. William lived in God’s grace and is missed greatly.
