Woman killed in Fabius Twp. crash

FABIUS TWP. — A 20-year-old woman was killed in a traffic crash that occurred in Fabius Township last week.
According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred Wednesday, Jan. 14 in the area of Constantine Road and Shorewood Road. Deputies say a 2010 Chevy Cobalt driven by the 20-year-old was traveling northbound on Constantine Road when she lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle struck the guard rail on the bridge and went into the southbound lane.
The Cobalt was then struck by a 2015 Chevy Silverado, which was traveling southbound at the time, and struck the car on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The driver of the Cobalt is believed to have not been wearing a seatbelt at the time. The 20-year-old, identified as Brianne Anthony according to family, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Ice and snow are believed to have played a factor in the crash, while speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police, Three Rivers Police Department, and Three Rivers Fire Department.
