Alldredge, Klever formally join public safety department

A swear-in session was held June 11 for two new members of Sturgis Department of Public Safety: firefighter Julian Alldredge and police officer Alexander Klever.
Ryan Banaszak, director of public safety, led the presentation, with city clerk/treasurer Ken Rhodes conducting the oath.
Alldredge was born and raised in Sturgis. Shortly after graduating from Sturgis High in 2021, he joined the Department of Public Safety’s “Explorers” program. Later, he attended St. Joseph County Fire Academy. In fall 2023, he graduated from EMT school. Alldredge was working as an on-call firefighter and part-time EMT prior to his full-time hire.
Klever was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. He spent six years serving in the U.S. Army. In 2024, he decided to pursue a career in law enforcement. Klever attended Kellogg Community College Police Academy, graduating in December 2024. He was hired by DPS in January 2025.
