Almena building suffers fire damage

On Friday, Jan. 7, at 3:58 a.m. the Paw Paw Volunteer Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire in the 25000 block of M-43 Highway, in Almena Township. The caller reported seeing flames protruding through the roof of the building. Upon arrival, firefighters were able to quickly knock down and extinguish the fire, which was contained to the ceiling/roof area. No injuries were reported. Van Buren Emergency Medical Services Ambulance and the Paw Paw Quick Response Team also responded to the incident.
