Area July 4thcelebrations and events plentiful around Marion

Area communities will be holding numerous, family fun events.  Below are just some of the incredible things to do in our area (Fireworks events are bolded and red):
 
Saturday, June 29, 2024
Fireworks in Houghton Lake at dusk. The show will be launched from the East Bay area on Saturday, June 29.
 
Monday, July 1, 2024
Cadillac Lion’s Club 6th Annual City Medallion Hunt (FREE).  Begins at 8 a.m. July 1, ends on July 7, or when the Medallion is found, whichever is first.  Every morning at 8 a.m., a clue will be provided on WCDY (107.9 Cadillac).  If you miss a clue, you must find a “Clue Stop Sponsor” business in the city.  The Cash prize for the winner is $300.  Go to Cadillac Lion’s Club FB page and like please.
Harrison District Library will be holding its regular Cards & Coffee at 10 a.m., its Crafts & Conversation and Hooks & Needles at 1 p.m. Come into the Harrison District Library in their beautiful location at 125 W. Beech Street in Harrison.

Clare.  Art with Amy at the Clare Union Train Depot.  Artist will be creating Tree of Life Pendant.  Cost is $45 with a $20 deposit.  Call Carron at 989-698-6539 to reserve a spot.

Harrison District Library will be holding a “Young & Restless” Story time for toddlers and preschool children from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Harrison District Library at 125 W. Beech Street in Harrison
 
Thursday, July 4, 2024
 Harrison July 4th Parade.  Theme: Fun in the Sun.  Line up begins at 9 a.m. at the Clare County Fairgrounds.  Parade starts at 11 a.m. sharp!  Runs from Fairgrounds through Harrison south to the County Building area.
Falmouth Community Fireworks in Falmouth Dam Park.  Free Community Dinner, Live Music.  6637 S. Main Street, Falmouth at dusk for fireworks.
 Cadillac Freedom Festival parade at 1 p.m., route Mitchell-Pine-Chestnut Street in Cadillac.  NOTE:  July 4 through July 6 is Cadillac Freedom Festival with numerous events. 
 
Friday, July 5, 2024
 Harrison Mud Bog & Fireworks.  Mud Bog at the Clare County Fairgrounds starts at 5 p.m.  Fireworks start AFTER Mud Bog or dusk at the Clare County Fairgrounds.  Ticket prices for the Mud Bog are 6 years of age an up $15; 5 years of age and under FREE.
Houghton Lake Historical Society’s Food Truck Festival @ 1701 W. Houghton Lake Drive, Houghton Lake, MI.  Starts at 4:30 p.m.
Cadillac Freedom Festival live music.  Flatbed Fords (Eagles Tribute Band) @ the Cadillac Rotary Pavilion 7 p.m. start time.
 
July 6, 2024
Lake George 5k Walk/Run. Begins at Lincoln Township Hall, 175 Lake George Avenue, Lake George, Michigan.  8:30 a.m. start time.
Lake George July 4 parade (held on July 6, Saturday) at Old Hamlin Ball Fields.  Noon to 2 p.m.
Farwell Figure 8, BNR, and Gut n’ Go Forward Demolition Derby. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the Farwell Fairgrounds, 221 S. Webber St., Farwell, 48622.  $50 entry fee for vehicles and drivers. $20 Pit Pass all ages. Cars MUST be registered at least ONE HOUR BEFORE start.   There is a “Powerwheels” kids event that is free for kids. 
 Cadillac Freedom Festival (Music & Fireworks).  Music from Bob Hausler, North 44, and more.  Fireworks begin at dusk.  Cadillac Rotary Pavilion.
