CLARE — The Clare clay target shooting team is off to a good start this season.
Clare’s top male athletes are Hoyt Vanacker 10th grader, Oziah Carpenter 8th Grader, Parker Alexander 6th Grade, Gabe Veitengruber 8th grade.
Top female athletes are Ryann Hales, Ella Pettersch, Lydia Bear, Kendall Parsons and Layla Russell.
Competition week one started out with most of the student shooters shooting varsity scores.
Hoyt Vanacker topped the week with 50 straight currently tieing 1st in conference for Male
Ryann Hales tied for 3rd in conference as of week 1 competition.
Last week was Competition week 2. The team moved up to 3rd place over all in conference topping Laker High School, Romeo High School, Durand High School, and Airport High School. Clare is in week 3 now hoping to keep moving upward. There are two more weeks until last competition week.
