Bridgefest Returns in 2022 Celebrate the historic Second Street Bridge, now the centerpiece of the award-winning Riverfront Park, on the second Saturday of June in Downtown Allegan!
The fun begins on Friday night with the kickoff to the free summer concert series, Rollin’ on the River, from 6:30pm-9:30pm. The concert series takes place on the Riverfront Stage every Friday until August 26, featuring live music of a variety of genre by musicians from across Michigan.
On Saturday, in addition to live music, Bridgefest will also feature delicious food trucks and adult beverages from the Downtown Allegan Social District. Balance the food and drinks with the first annual Red Turtle Run 5K & 10K that start and end on the Riverfront. Runners can sign up at runsignup.com/Race/MI/Allegan/RedTurtleRuns.
With the support of area businesses, Bridgefest will feature an auto show organized by Minnie’s Restaurant, an artist market by The Sassy Olive, inflatables by the Allegan District Library, a cornhole tournament benefitting the Allegan County Community Foundation sponsored by Tantrick Brewing Co and Food Motivated, kayak rentals from Plainwell Kayak Company, and the Allegan Event Riverfront Zip Line. Event goers can also enjoy the 100-person Perrigo Plaza Splash Pad, a 40-foot Ferris Wheel, and fireworks over the Kalamazoo River to end the night!
“The Old Iron Bridge is iconic,” explains Parker Johnson, Downtown Manager. “That is why the City of Allegan is currently investing in the construction project to extend the longevity of the gateway that enters Downtown Allegan for generations to come. Although the bridge will remain closed through mid-July, Bridgefest remains the unofficial start to summer and is the free family event that no one wants to miss.”
Rollin’ on the River kicks off on Friday, June 10 from 6:30pm-9:30pm. Bridgefest festivities begin Saturday, June 11 at 11am and concludes with fireworks at 10:15pm.
